HIP Supports Apprenticeship Efforts During National Apprenticeship Week 2021

With heightened focus on the U.S. workforce in recent months, Registered Apprenticeship has become a key point of interest for many organizations.

Alongside the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship (OA), High Impact Partners (HIP) worked closely to support the success of the seventh annual National Apprenticeship Week (NAW), which took place November 15-21, 2021. HIP provided key support to OA by documenting national events, monitoring national media coverage, and working with OA to produce the NAW 2021 report.

NAW 2021 brought together thousands of partners across different industries to showcase the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeship for rebuilding the U.S. economy, advancing racial and gender equity, and supporting underserved communities. The Biden Administration has expressed a concerted commitment to ensuring that people from historically underserved and marginalized populations receive the training and education necessary for good jobs today and in the future. These populations include youth, people of color, women, and veterans.

As a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), HIP was proud to support National Women in Apprenticeship Day, which received its first official observance on November 18, 2021.

National Apprenticeship Week received historic media coverage this year. HIP provided media monitoring services that covered broadcast, print, online, and social media during the entire month of November. Our findings indicated that online articles from major outlets (Business Insider, Forbes, Yahoo Finance, etc.) generated the most reach, however, the #NAW2021 hashtag was mentioned over 7,000 times on social media, signaling a 30% increase from the previous year.

HIP is also supporting the Apprenticeship Ambassador Initiative that was announced during NAW 2021. HIP designed the logo and will work with OA to announce and orient the inaugural cohort of Apprenticeship Ambassadors.

For a detailed look at the events that occurred during NAW 2021, visit the Office of Apprenticeship’s website to read the recently-published report.

HIP looks forward to NAW 2022, November 14-20, and helping further the expansion of Registered Apprenticeship in the U.S.
