Job Corps Strengthens its National Safety Hotline
High Impact Partners (HIP) recently gained a new contract from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Employment and Training Administration, Office of Job Corps to support the Job Corps Program National Safety Hotline.
Job Corps provides its students and center staff with an anonymous toll-free hotline to communicate any safety concerns while learning and teaching in a residential environment.
HIP partnered with New Orleans Teleport dba CALLS PLUS to manage the 24/7 call service that deploys licensed counselors to provide response-driven services. The dedicated safety hotline responds to tips submitted via multiple communication channels from students and center staff to help ensure safe and secure campuses.
HIP will work closely with the National Office of Job Corps and its six Regional Offices as well as center operators and other support contractors, as appropriate, to promote awareness of the hotline and quality assurance.
Established in 1964, Job Corps is currently authorized under Title 1-C of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 and is administered by the National Office of Job Corps in Washington DC, with oversight of Job Corps centers conducted primarily through federal regional offices located in: Boston, MA; Philadelphia, PA; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; and San Francisco, CA. Job Corps delivers a continuum of services designed to provide enrollees with skills and credentials leading to employment, apprenticeship, and post-secondary education.
